The Gabe Henderson Live Like 10 Scholarship is a $5,000 ( Five Thousand) scholarship that was established to honor the life and legacy of Gabe Henderson. Gabe was a 17 year old young man who was an outstanding athlete, student and humanitarian at Deep Run High School. He believed dreams and aspirations came through hard work and dedication; and that no young athlete’s potential should be limited by financial hardship or a lack of opportunity.
1) Be a graduating Senior at Deep Run High School for the Class of 2021
2) Graduating with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
3) Enrolled in an accredited college or university for 2021
4) Letter of recommendation from a guidance counselor, teacher or coach
5) Has been involved in Deep Run Athletics (includes team managers and cheerleading) for at least 2 years
6) Complete/Submit application, letter of recommendation, and essay to Deep Run Counseling Department, Attention: Mrs. Lisa Kaplan-Scholarship Coordinator: lhkaplan@henrico.k12.va.us

*The Live Like 10 organization was inspired by the Students of Deep Run High School. They saw and
felt the characteristics that Gabe exemplified on how to live life to its fullest and to Never Give Up!
Gabe summed up his outlook on life with a quote he coined and had tattooed on his arm:
“I’m not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become”
How do You feel that You can apply this quote to your daily life, in the future, and in helping others?
2) Application, Essay, and Letter of Recommendation are due no later than May 15, 2021.
3) The scholarship recipient’s name may be used in conjunction with the GHLL10 organization as a
current and past recipient on the website and on social media.
4) The Scholarship is intended for tuition, books and other school related expenses and will be paid by
the Gabe Henderson Live Like 10 Organization directly to the college or university beginning for the Fall Semester of 2021.
5) The recipient will be selected in conjunction with the Deep Run Counseling Department, members of
the board and board designees of the Gabe Henderson Live Like 10 Organization.
6) Applications received after the due date will not be reviewed or considered
